A NEW initiative to crack down on the burgeoning problem of anti-social behaviour in Studley was launched by police on Monday.
Operation Empower has been set up following an increase in the number of reports from residents concerned about nuisance youths.
The scheme will see an increase in the number of uniformed officers present in the village between 7 and 11pm.
Sector inspector Emma Walton said: "We have a real problem in Studley with nuisance youths, and it seems to be particularly bad at the moment with an increase in petty criminal damage.
"It's generally reports of smashed windows, vandalism and making residents feel uncomfortable."
On Friday a group of youths broke into a garage in Crooks Lane at 8.50pm and stole ice creams from a freezer.
And then last Monday another group of five youths stole a spare wheel from a Citroen in Augustine Avenue and then removed hubcaps from a Citroen in New Road.
A car window was also smashed in St Jude's Avenue overnight on Friday, October 22.
"These are just a few examples of the sort of reports we are getting and the type of incident we want to clamp down on," added Insp Walton.
"If anyone has any information about these incidents then I urge them to get in touch."
Anyone who would like to report nuisance behaviour can call Alcester police on 01789 762207.
