POLICE are urging residents to get in touch if they have any information about a spate of break-ins in Alcester town centre over the past two weeks.
Insp Emma Walton said they were keen to hear from anyone who knew anything about a large number of incidents where premises had been broken into and in some cases, a small amount of money stolen.
Last Tuesday, there was an attempted break-in at the Red Cross shop in High Street when raiders tried to remove putty from a window.
The next day, burglars used a crow bar to force a back door at Alcester Square Fish Bar in Moorfield Road and took two charity boxes containing about £10.
And on Friday, Insp Walton said intruders had got into the Greig Hall via a skylight and although officers had found blood at the scene, they were not yet sure whether anything had been stolen.
On the same night, it was reported three temporary classrooms at St Faith's School had their doors kicked down.
The incidents follow a similar number of break-ins the week before.
Insp Walton said: "We obviously have someone operating in the town centre but we are unsure whether it is nuisance youths or whether we have something more serious on our hands."
Anyone with information can call Alcester police station on 01789 762207.
