HIGH Street art haven Venue Xpresso welcomed Peter Kotka for a public demonstration as part of a series of events with artists.
The well-known local artist spent Friday in the caf working on a piece and also sold a print of one of his paintings to raise cash for charity.
Manager Carol Lane said the day had been a great success and plenty of visitors had come in to watch Mr Kotka at work.
"He sold the picture to Jackie Johnson for £150 and we raised another £30 in tips, so altogether we raised £180 for Cystic Fibrosis," she added.
"We also sold four other paintings. They were really popular because Peter Kotka does not stock his work in many shops."
The next live artist to appear at Venue Xpresso will be Leroy Henry, cousin of Midlands comedian Lenny Henry, who will spend a day at the caf on November 11.
