THE October meeting was also the 71st birthday night.
The hall was decorated to resemble a ship and the committee were the captain and crew.
The business of the evening was quickly dealt with. Everyone had enjoyed the group walk around Arrow Valley lake, and the rambling club had completed their walk around Hatton Locks. Names were taken for a Christmas shopping trip to Chester, and the group meeting at Rowney Green Peace Hall.There will also be a craft afternoon to demonstrate making Christmas cards.
After the president had wished everyone a happy birthday, there was a toast for the 90th birthday of the WI in Great Britain.
Following an American supper, the speaker for the evening, Suzanne Morgan, entertained with her stories of life as a hairdresser aboard the QE2. Jill Warner thanked her for a fascinating talk.
