DELICE welcomed members, bad weather had stopped some from Pershore attending.
Miriam read the minutes of the September meeting which were approved and signed. Matters arising: Jenny Simpson reported on the last meeting of the Lenchton group - this was held at Inkberrow Village Hall. Almost 90 members came and enjoyed good food, company and beautiful singing. The meeting ended with a wonderful rendition of Jerusalem.
Miriam and Delice had attended a presidents and secretaries meeting of the new group, Lenchton, Redditch and Saltway. Ideas for the future included a theatre visit, skittles, bowls, croquet and a dabble day.
Fundraising ideas for our own WI, including a plant tombola and a plant swap in the spring were discussed. The next meeting would be on re-homing unwanted puppies and the speaker Sheila Tremlin. Visitors welcome.
AGM: Margaret Humphries represents the village hall committee. This year has seen new tabletops and new cups and saucers. Rosemary Smith said that last year we had won three and lost two but she still needed more players. This year we have played one and won one. Sheila Baskerfield, organiser of the WI Trotters, reported we had walked 45 miles and everyone had really enjoyed themselves. She thanked Delice for her contributions to the picnic walk.
Delice Bayliss was unanimously re-elected as our president, and the rest of the committee agreed to carry on. Marion Collins reported on our finances and gave a budget for next year. The candlestick for competition points was won by Gill Blackband. This month's competition a leaf collage points for Gill Blackband and Betty Thomas, and the raffle prizes to Gill Blackband and Miriam Tait.
