WORCESTER Wanderers got revenge for last season's defeat with a 39-8 victory over Berkswell and Balsall at Sixways.
In the corresponding fixture last term, Worcester went down 22-6 in a match that scotched their hopes of promotion.
Ryan Henshaw weighed in with four tries as Wanderers maintained fourth place in the league.
Berkswell came with their usual big pack but were unable to bully the Worcester forwards, who matched their opposition physically but bettered them in ball retention and skills.
Within five minutes, Wanderers turned over the Berkswell ball on their own five-metre line. Matt Smith received the ball after a deft pick-up by Andy Plant and his pass to full-back Joph Young allowed him to feed Henshaw for the first try on the left.
Young sent the conversion straight between the uprights.
Berkswell stand-off John Everton kicked a 25-metre penalty to close the gap before his effort was cancelled out by Young.
Smith and Young then set up winger Elmer Attree to dive over on the far side for a try. Young's attempt from the touchline fell a couple of feet short.
From a quick ruck, Henshaw picked up and ran down the blind to score in the corner and Young's excellent kick stretched Wanderers' lead to 22-3.
Berkswell seemed to lose heart at this stage and Wanderers, spurred on by captain Ade Farmer, kept their foot on the pedal.
Berkswell gave away a penalty, which Fincher tapped and ran, committing the defender while setting Young free to run along the right wing.
His weighted pass to stand-off Dan Sparrey gave him a clear run in to score on the right.
Henshaw then dived over for his hat-trick shortly after the break.
Within two minutes, second row Plant won another crucial ball and sent Friend off down the pitch and his pass to Henshaw completed his haul.
Berkswell managed a consolation try when Andy Lewis crashed over.
Elsewhere, Wanderers Seconds defeated Ledbury 44-7, the Thirds overcame Bournville 46-19 and the Vets recorded a 19-7 win against Droitwich Seconds.
