MEMBERS of 1st Cookley Guides have given 4,000 pennies for their thoughts about raising cash for Operation Covert.
They got their heads together to come up with the offbeat idea that generated £40 for the cause.
Amanda Brighton, the group's Guider, said the girls often supported charities with fund-raising initiatives, with the tsunami appeal and Barnardos among previous beneficiaries.
"We have all used Rhydd Covert," said Mrs Brighton. "I have got a group of girls who come up with all sorts of ideas for raising money. They said 'we would like to collect pennies'. They took a lot of stacking."
