THREE Stourport cross-Channel travellers have completed a unique 1,100 mile journey that helped boost funds for a Kidderminster charity.
Emily Foxall, Matthew Parker and Nigel Richardson raised over £1,400 for Kemp Hospice, which helps people with life-limiting illnesses, by completing the Tower to Tower Mini Mission.
The trip took them to the landmark towers in Blackpool and Paris in the "fourth member of the team" - Binny - a 1989 Mini Mayfair.
The expedition, which took more than 50 hours to complete, ended when they crossed the finishing line at Kemp Hospice's premises in Mason Road, Kidderminster.
The mission, described as "one of those stupid ideas you have down the pub", was carried out in memory of Jean Foxall - Emily's mother - who died in 2003 from cancer.
The driving was shared between the three fund-raisers and the team suffered only one snag, when a dashboard light fuse needed replacing.
Organiser, Miss Foxall, who works at the hospice, said: "My mother bought my Mini and I would like to think that she is really proud of what we have done.
"It really was great fun and all three of us had such a laugh. We didn't even argue once during the journey, which is probably an even bigger achievement."
The fund-raisers are already enlisting volunteers and drawing up plans for a similar epic trip that will take place next year.
Chris Onions, fund-raising officer at Kemp Hospice, said: "Everyone at the hospice is grateful for what the group have done. It really is a fantastic achievement."
