ONE of the five-strong team of nurses caring for Kemp's patients describes the work as "a privilege".
Staff nurse Diane Egginton, explaining how she became involved, said: "I visited for a course while I was nursing, doing something else.
"I just loved the atmosphere and it was my dream to become more involved working here."
She went on: "It is such a privilege to work here because you meet such wonderful people.
"It's a different atmosphere to hospital. It's not clinical."
Diane has been involved for eight years. "There is a nurse on at all times when patients are here," she said, "We're all trained nurses."
Two of the team are on duty at Kidderminster on weekdays, although they also have to cover a satellite Kemp unit at Tenbury Wells.
Outlining the difference between working in a hospital and a hospice, she said: "It is more the emotional help. Everybody has to be aware of the emotional demands of the job. It is quite different to hospital life."
