JILL Valentine, star of the original Resi, is the main character in Resident Evil 3.
The game is split into two parts, 24 hours before Resident Evil 2 and 24 hours after Resident Evil 2. Like Resi 2, Resident Evil 3 is a direct conversion rather than a remake of the Capcom's classic game.
Sadly the game seems slightly more dated than Resident Evil 2. Perhaps one can put this down to the conversion for Resi 2 being similar to the Dreamcast version while Resi 3 is identical to the PSONE version.
Although the graphics do not utilise the full potential of the GameCube they are certainly not terrible and should not detract from the enjoyment.
Resident Evil 3 sees a number of changes in the world of survival horror.
Jill is stalked throughout the entire game by Nemesis. Whenever Nemesis enters this adds an extra fear factor as gamers must escape as quickly as possible.
There is also the addition of gamers being offered a choice of what to do in dangerous situations eg escape or fight.
Gamers can take advantage of the ability to aim at different zombies with the touch of a button, blow up barrels and perform 180 degree turns with ease.
Resident Evil 3 is certainly one of the best Resi titles but, for owners of the game for the PSONE or DC, there is very little incentive to buy the GameCube version.
