HAVING released both Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 for the Nintendo GameCube it seemed only logical that Resident Evil 2 would follow.
Rather than being a remake, like the original Resident Evil, this is a conversion. However, there are notable improvements from the PSONE version such as faster loading times and superior graphics.
Although graphics are much smoother - only looking notably dated when blood dribbles out of zombies - and the storyline is fine, the voice acting is poor.
Gamers control Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy as they battle a town of zombies in Racoon City. Gamers get to enjoy a combination of action.
Puzzles and cut scenes expand the plot. There will invariably be moments where gamers jump but, rather than psychologically breaking the gamer down, Resident Evil 2 opts to provide gamers with a more hands-on horror experience.
Resident Evil 2 was originally criticised for being a little short but the game can take novices up to 24 hours to complete fully plus the addition of extra games and playable characters after completion.
For gamers yet to play Resident Evil 2, this is an ideal purchase.
