AFTER hearing that Worcestershire Young Farmers had been asked to take a recruitment trailer along to Salwarpe village fete, I offered to go along on behalf of Crowle Young Farmers.
We are the nearest club to the area and have used the village hall for our club harvest suppers in previous years.
I enlisted the help of some of our members to promote all aspects of Young Farmers, with Lou Saunders sorting and fixing many of the photos in the trailer.
The fete committee had also asked whether we could organise an afternoon event in the main ring.
I called Jon Holmes to see if he would be interested in displaying his spaniel gun dogs.
There was a large audience for Jon's display, which showed a keen interest in the playful activities of his young dogs, which he breeds and trains from pups.
The afternoon went off very well, with several enquires from possible new YFC members.
Young Farmers will be out in force again on Monday. Ombersley YFC has organised a gala at the Memorial Hall Playing Field, for the Bank Holiday afternoon, which will be in aid of the Acorns Children's Hospice.
