ANDY Keast has urged his Worcester Warriors to put their Brive beating behind them.
The Sixways head coach returned with his Premiership troops desperately disappointed following their 40-10 defeat on Saturday night in France.
However, Keast is determined that Worcester learn from their mistakes and register their first top flight away victory on Sunday against London Irish.
"We're all very disappointed but we've got to take the positive aspects out of the Brive game," said Keast.
"We played as a team in the second half and that's what the players can take from the match. We got a lot more team patterns going in that second half and played more like a unit."
Worcester crashed out of the European Challenge Cup despite taking a 29-15 lead into the second leg. However, after a disastrous first half -- where they found themselves 25-3 down -- the Warriors were always facing an uphill battle.
"We forgot to play in the first half and seemed to go out onto the field hoping to defend our 14-point lead," added Keast. "That was the most disappointing part because we'd talked about it all week in the lead-up to the match. We'd said how important it was to take the game to Brive. However, we didn't do that and quickly found ourselves on the back foot. We had our chances in the second half, though, and Brive were awarded a try when the ball clearly went out of play so it could have been a lot closer on aggregate."
Tommy Hayes gave Worcester a boost, though, as he came through 10 minutes of action unscathed following his return to fitness. The fly half has been out of action since injuring his knee back in September but kicked an impressive conversion following Thinus Delport's second half try.
"That's a big boost for us," added Keast. "We've always said that the Premiership is the priority and Europe has been great. However, with Tommy back, it increases the competition for places and we're determined to go to London Irish and register that first away win.
"London Irish have shown that on their day they can perform well. They have capability and we have to make sure that we are right up there on Sunday. If we don't then it makes life very difficult."
