A TOURING theatre company is to visit Worcestershire later this month to perform the brand new comedy Bedazzled.
Penned by Irish writer Sylvia Cullen, the play is set in the Gold Rush of 1795 and sees the heroine Moody Mangan trying to strike gold in order to prevent her fiance from transportation.
Clamp, her ruthless arch-enemy, succeeds in barring her until she outwits him, returning in disguise as a man.
This sparks a series of comic events, forcing Moody to take extreme measures to extract herself from danger while still in pursuit of her heart's desire.
The show, being organised as part of Shindig - Worcestershire's new rural and community theatre touring scheme - will be staged at Worcester's Green Community Centre on Wednesday, February 23, at 7.30pm.
It will also be staged at Kemerton Victoria Hall, near Tewkesbury, on Friday, February 18, at 7.30pm and the next night at 8pm at Birlingham Village Hall, near Evesham.
For tickets, call Ian and Sue McLeish on 01386 725404, Karen Crowther, on 0138 750915 or John Denton on 01905 21095.
