PAT Sanderson could be in line for a full England call-up.

Worcester Warriors' skipper, who has been influential in the Sixways club's opening five Premiership matches, is in the thoughts of caretaker coach Andy Robinson.

England flanker Richard Hill is unlikely to play again this season after undergoing knee surgery and that means Robinson will be searching for alternatives.

The World champions take on Canada on November 13 before locking horns with South Africa and Australia.

And with Lewis Moody tentatively making his comeback this week and Neil Back now retired, the international door for Sanderson is ajar. The former Harlequins man looks set to battle with Gloucester's Andy Hazell and Bath's Michael Lipman for the openside shirt.

Worcester had hoped to lose just Ben Hinshelwood during the Autumn internationals but Sanderson has always made his ambitions clear.

"This season is massive for me. There's change at the top for England but success at that level only comes after success at your club. I'm fully aware of that so we've got to win, win well and play well," he said.

Meanwhile, Worcester's Ben Goll-ings is in the running for this year's World Sevens player of the year award.

The Warriors winger and Glouc-ester scrum half Simon Amor have been shortlisted by the judges for the annual IRB Awards. Gollings was the top points scorer in last season's IRB World Sevens Series with 394 and is now second in the all-time list to Waisale Serevi.

Amor captained England last season as they won the London, George and Hong Kong legs of the IRB series and finished second overall behind New Zealand.

The pair are joined on the shortlist by Argentina's Lucio Lopez Fleming for the ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on November 28

Then they head for Dubai, where the first leg of this season's series takes place on December 2-3.

World Cup winning captain Martin Johnson will present the IRB team of the year award in association with Sodexho, with a shortlist made up of France, Portugal and South Africa.

The IRB player of the year award nominees are Serge Betsen (France), Schalk Burger (South Africa), Gordon D'Arcy (Ireland), Matt Giteau (Australia) and Marius Joubert (South Africa).
