SIONE KEPU trained for the first time today after putting the finishing touches to his Sixways switch.
The New Zealand winger, who has signed for a three-month trial period, was put through his paces by Andy Keast and, before he took to the training field, Worcester's head coach was excited about the prospect.
"He's a big lad with some reputation," he said. "He looks a physical ball carrier but, obviously, we need to have a look at him in training."
Kepu, who is believed to be related to All Black legend Jonah Lomu, could win a place on the bench for Worcester's Premiership clash at Leeds on Sunday. The Warriors were finalising their line-up today.
"Since Jon Hylton was injured we've been looking for somebody to bring in," added Keast. "We're looking for somebody who will give us a cutting edge and cause defences a problem."
Flanker Leon Greeff is definitely out of the running after suffering a foot problem in Saturday's 33-7 victory over Harlequins.
