CRACKPOTS B have played more matches than any other team but have nevertheless established a strong position at the top of the Malvern Table Tennis League's third division table.
They have collected five three point wins and Alan Forsdike and Ted Cates are still unbeaten in their team's doubles sets.
In their three results this week, Ted won all his six singles, Alan won four out of nine, Stan Ginn three out of six and Tim Snee two out of three.
Their encounter with X-Police was a very close one. The sets went alternately to each team until after the doubles, when Alan Forsdike beat Alan Holmes by 11-6 in the fourth game, which gave Crackpots a 5-3 lead with two to play. Malcolm Dalley then beat Stan Ginn 11-9, 12-10 and 11-8 leaving Ted Cates and Steve Mulka to fight the last set for a point, which Ted won in three straight games.
Lieutenants took a point from each of their two matches. Alasdair Maxwell-Stewart won two against Crackpots and Craig Preece won two against Nomads. For the Nomads Rob Redden won all three singles and Adrian Fray and Tony Hughes won two each and the doubles together but only by 13-11 in the fifth game.
Charlie Burford and Collette James each won a singles to give Dynamos a point from their match with Crackpots, when six sets needed extra games.
RESULTS: Crackpots B 6, X-Police 4; Poolbrook Lieutenants 2, Crackpots B 8; CSSC Nomads 8, Poolbrook Lieutenants 2; Crack-pots B 8, Dukes Way Dynamos 2.
