A DEAF criminal with 172 crimes on his record has a fixation with a television commentator, Worcester Crown Court heard.
William Carter, of Walter Nash Road, Kidderminster, was remanded in custody for six weeks while a psychiatric report is prepared. He was living in a probation hostel until Judge Andrew Geddes expressed concerns over public protection.
Carter, 30, is awaiting sentence after admitting breaches of anti-social behaviour orders.
Mrs Sharon Banks, for the defendant, said there were worries over his fixation with the television personality. She did not name the person involved.
Judge Geddes said it might be possible for Carter to live in the community again once the report on his mental state is completed.
Carter, who is also mute and needed a sign language interpreter in court, has breached anti-social behaviour orders on 12 occasions. Other offences include driving whilst disqualified and robbery.
