WITH regard to your story "Warning to trick or treaters" (Shuttle/Times and News, October 20), it's good to hear that the police are prepared to take action against those who take things too far.
How can responsible parents tell their children not to take presents from strangers for 364 days of the year and then let them out at night to go begging from one stranger's door to the next on Halloween?
In fact, if our politicians had any courage they would ban this American obscenity. It has no place in our British culture and is positively dangerous for all involved.
