Hinton Ladies 4,

Evesham United Ladies 2

A DISAPPOINTING performance by a United side missing a number of players saw them succumb to defeat against a young Hinton side who finished the match with ten players.

After an early free kick from Charlotte Moon had rattled the Evesham bar, Hinton eventually took the lead after 27 minutes when Jodie Driscoll ran through a static United defence to deservedly put the home side in front.

Five minutes later, however, Charlene McLoughlin picked up a loose ball and ran on to send a shot high into the roof of the net for an unlikely equaliser. United were almost caught out in the 34th minute when Charlie Grove got free in the six-yard box only to hit her shot over the bar. Early second half pressure from Evesham saw McLoughlin shoot wide but in the 50th minute McLoughlin, receiving the ball 25 yards from goal, swivelled and hit a glorious strike over goalkeeper Vicky Moon to put the visitors in front.

The lead was to last for only one minute as Debbie Jenkins cross-cum-shot from wide on the right nestled inside the far corner.

The loss of their goalkeeper to injury after 72 minutes left Hinton having to play the final minutes with only ten players.

However, this did not seem to affect them as two late goals from Driscoll, sandwiched between strikes by Evesham's Amy Summers and McLoughlin that came back off the bar, gave the home side a deserved victory against a disjointed United.
