A photographer has been awarded the top prize in a national photography competition.
Kevin Smith, of Broadway, entered himself into the competition organised by the Master Photographer's Association and the British Institute of Professional Photography.
More than 3,000 entrants from around the world applied to the 2005 British Professional Photography Awards, only 350 of which were invited to the awards ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in Coventry on Sunday, October 16.
Mr Smith received the Bride and Groom Consumer Award and the Dennis Hylander Wedding Award for an image taken of a wedding couple in the Scilly Isles.
"It's always nice for your work to get recognition," said Mr Smith, "While I was hopeful the image I submitted might do well I was still amazed to hear my name read out."
