ALEC Turner will, quite literally, be taking stock during the winter months.
The Vale stock car racer was only able to manage half a season in this year's European Baby Grand Stock Car Series but he has set his sights on winning the 2006 event and with it a one-off drive America - the home of stock car racing.
A former motor cross racer, Alec completed as a rookie in the 2005 European Series run by Currall Motor Sport based in Northa-mpton.
He only took delivery of the car from Hous-ton, Texas, in June but it served him well as he made an immediate impression when finishing sixth.
Farndon Racing and KM Marketing Services have both given their financial backing to the Vale racer who is still looking for additional sponsorship for next season.
Racing a combination of short and oval tracks, Alec, who is a site engineer with Samsara Ltd in Evesham, has raced successfully at Rockingham and at the Lydden Hill Festival of Sport but his first event of the new year will be indoors.
He has been given the chance to star at the indoor arena at the NEC Autosport Show in January ahead of his quest for European Series success.
However, his next move is aimed at Pick-up Truck Racing and he has two years in which to complete a remarkable transition for the Rockingham event in 2008.
