Stafford 1st XI 1 Bromsgrove 1st XI 3
YOUTHFUL Bromsgrove continued their excellent start to the season in the Coaching Solutions Midlands Division One on Saturday, with a comprehensive victory over struggling Stafford.
The Boars had been missing a host of midfielders, but teenage players Ollie Adams and Joel Brace produced impressive performances.
Victory was also Bromsgrove's third in four league games.
Captain Julian Court said: "We've come up against sides we had lost to last season, so it's good to see us get some wins.
"Our fixtures have not been the hardest in the league, but all we could do was win them, which we did."
Mark Robinson opened the scoring from a short corner. Bromsgrove managed to control the game but could not find another goal before the break. Pete Hall fired home the second effort early in the second period, before Stafford pulled one back. But Bromsgrove tightened their grip on victory when Matthew Russell scored from a short corner.
Court faces a team selection headache for Saturday's home game against Yardley (1pm start).
Mark Yates, Ben Husbands and Nick Frizzell are expected to be available, but the Bromsgrove captain also has Brace and Adams at his disposal.
