CAMPAIGNS to stop the downgrading of the Alexandra Hospital have stepped up a gear with MP Jacqui Smith accusing health chiefs over inadequate Redditch representation.
In a letter to hospitals trust chairman Michael O'Riordan, Ms Smith expressed "disappointment" that only two of the 15-strong independent review panel came from Redditch.
She said: "Given that the service cuts fall almost entirely at the Alex, this is plainly wrong. I'm afraid to say the panel won't appear impartial to my constituents or to external bodies."
Ms Smith added she hoped Mr O'Riordan would ensure panel membership was extended to include greater Redditch representation.
Last week, Ms Smith agreed to hand over to health chiefs the hundreds of Advertiser petition forms.
The petition can be signed by calling into our Church Green East reception. You can also take forms away with you and we ask they are returned by Monday.
