REDDITCH people can enjoy some fantastic firework displays next weekend.
One, organised by Redditch Lions, will be at The Nevill Arms, Evesham Road, Astwood Bank, on Friday, November 4, and will benefit several charities.
The bonfire will be lit at 7pm and fireworks set off from 7.30pm. Entry costs £1, children under 12 enter free if accompanied by an adult.
There will be food, a free children's disco courtesy of the Neville Arms management, Mike Green and his Dutch street organ, competitions and a raffle.
Hospital Radio Pulse will entertain the crowds and people can submit requests to be played the next day at the hospital.
Charities benefiting will be Birmingham Children's Hospital, Edwards Trust, the Alexandra Hospital's 'SIM' man appeal and the local Lions' charity welfare fund.
The Astwood Bank carnival committee will hold its event the next day at SE Davis, Edgioake Lane, Astwood Bank.
Gates open 6pm, the bonfire will be lit at 7pm and fireworks start at 7.45pm. There will be a licenced bar, music, food and fairground attractions.
Admission is £5 for adults and £2 for unaccompanied children. Children accompanied by an adult are admitted free.
There is free car parking at Ridgeway School, Evesham Road, and on the carnival field, including a viewing area for the disabled.
The event may be cancelled in the event of severe weather. Call 894537 for confirmation.
All proceeds from the carnival go to charities.
This year, £10,000 was donated to charities such as Macmillan and County Air Ambulance.
Redditch Fire Station's event will also take place on November 5 from 7.30pm.
Due to Middlehouse Lane being closed, motorists are advised to arrive early.
Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for concessions.
