A MAN posing as a window cleaner has been targeting offices in Redditch, Studley, Alcester and Bidford, stealing purses, laptops and mobile phones.
Police are appealing for information following a spate of thefts from offices and other premises across north Worcestershire and Warwickshire.
Many of the reports involve a man walking into the offices carrying a window-cleaning cloth between the lunchtime hours of noon and 2pm. He steals valuable personal property including purses if left unchallenged.
DS Dean Jones said: "We have arrested two men in connection with these burglaries but our enquiries are ongoing and we would like to speak to anyone else who believes they may have been a victim.
"But as well as appealing for information on these incidents, we also want to warn people to be vigilant to this type of offence. If you see someone in your office that you do not recognise, do check they have a genuine reason for being there."
He urged workers to take extra care of their belongings and if possible lock them away.
"We know that this type of offender takes the opportunity where he sees it, walking in to buildings without being challenged and helping himself to other people's belongings.
"Our advice is to be aware that bogus window cleaners have been operating in your area and to be alert yourself."
Anyone with information should call DS Jones on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
