LIKE the majority of the people of Redditch, I was amazed and very angry at the proposed transfer of the A&E at the Alexandra Hospital to Worcester.
I know only too well how important it is.
Just before Christmas 2004, I was taken very ill and I was rushed to A&E.
The doctors told my wife a delay of only another 30 minutes and it would have been too late for them to help me.
So it is fair to say that if the A&E had been at Worcester, then it is quite possible I would not be here today.
There are other places the health trust should be looking at to save money.
There are too many people walking around doing nothing while the nurses and doctors are rushed off their feet.
But the A&E MUST STAY.
The people of Redditch must stick together on this, we do not want our hospital downgraded.
I was lucky. If it is moved to Worcester, others may not be so lucky.
