AN Irish theme pub in Worcester is calling all Penelope Pitstops and Dick Dastardlys in to take part in their very own version of the 'wacky races' - the Keg Race 2005 - as part of the annual Feis Ceol festival this November.
O'Neill's, in St Nicholas Street, is inviting teams of four to enter the charity race, which will challenge participants to travel to the Guinness Brewery in St James' Gate, Dublin, and back to O'Neill's in the quickest time possible, all the while carrying an empty Guinness keg.
Teams will be required to donate £100 to register, which goes to O'Neill's nominated charity, Barnardo's.
The challengers will then be sent on their way with just £50 a team for travel and any group found to spend a penny more will be automatically disqualified.
James Anderson, manager at O'Neill's on Nicholas Street, said: "The keg race marks the anniversary of the first arrival of Guinness on our shores and signals the start of the annual O'Neill's Irish Festival, Feis Ceol.
"The race is sure to be a challenge, but what better way to raise money for charity than visiting Dublin with your mates and returning back as local heroes to O'Neill's?"
If you think you are up to the challenge of the Keg Race, contact James And-erson on 01905 613 027 or drop into O'Neill's.
