Allo, Allo
Kinver Light Operatic Society
AFTER a slow first scene, Kinver Light Operatic Society's version of Allo Allo picked up speed with great comic timing.
Calvin Dallaway was excellent as Rene, with his amusing facial expressions and monologues to the audience at Edgecliff School Theatre.
The set was very similar to the television series, with the cast's French and German accents spot on.
The girls were suitably suggestive, which I am sure the men in the audience enjoyed.
There were some great comedy moments, which made the audience laugh out loud. Including the sausage scene, involving the majority of the cast. The parrot scene between Rene and Lieutenant Gruber, also gave Jamie Maule-Ffinch a chance to shine as the love sick Lieutenant.
As well as Herr Flick's solo tango which had the audience in stitches. How Charlotte Wood who played Helga kept a straight face, while Tim McGuire as Herr Flick did a manic dance across the stage, I will never know.
The whole cast worked well together to produce a faithful comedy parody of the original.
