WEST Malvern returned to winning form against a Pershore side showing nine changes from the side the West had played just three weeks ago.
WEST MALVERN 2, PERSHORE MANOR RES 1
West Malvern opened brightly and were ahead after 20 minutes. Good build-up resulted in Gareth Newton driving the ball home from 18 yards.
Pershore struck back in the 35th minute when poor defending allowed a corner to be deflected past the keeper.
Although they continued to press, the West were not making the most of the advantages they created. On 55 minutes they were back in front when a cross from the right-hand side was headed home by Gareth Newton.
The game continued to flow with both sides making chances and missing them. But in the end the West ran out comfortable winners.
Tomorrow (Saturday), they are at home again to Goodrest Sports, players meet at the dressing room at 2.15pm.
West Malvern are sponsored by Amey and the Cross Keys.
