A shop in Upton can be turned into a take-away, district councillors decided this week.
The southern area development control committee approved the plan by Peacemark Properties to convert 20 Church Street, Upton.
The building was laterly home to Hannah & Co and Cromwells Chocolates.
Several neighbours lodged strong objections to the application, citing worries about food smells, noise, parking, drainage and other problems.
Although the plan was approved, some councillors agreed that traffic would be a problem, as the shop is near the corner of High Street.
Coun Pat Mewton said: "We have a very similar situation in Malvern Link, where there's a take-away with double yellow lines. You get people parking there all the time, even though there's legal parking 20 yards away. It's absolute chaos."
n Cromwells Chocolates is moving today (Saturday) to a new home at gift shop Anemone Studio on High Street. Sue Hannah said: "We're looking forward to welcoming customers to our new premises. The gifts in the shop complement the chocolates very well."
