A FORMER Malvern town councillor claims he resigned after being harassed by fellow councillors for objecting to a planning application.
Laurence Gough wrote to Malvern Hills District Council objecting to town council plans for two bungalows in his ward, on land between Shenstone Close and Windrush Crescent.
"The residents of Shenstone Close want it to be a children's park - there's nowhere else for them within walking distance in the area," he said.
"As their councillor I opposed the plans."
Mr Gough claims he was severely criticised for the objection at a town council meeting.
"I was so harassed that when I got home I couldn't face going there again," he said.
Shenstone close resident Roy Mayo said his main concern about the plans was the road being too narrow for emergency vehicles to access.
The town council is now appealing after the district council refused the plans at a meeting last month
No-one from the town council was available to comment.
