THE EGGS Golf Society reached new heights last Saturday when they held an event at the highest course in England.
The Infosigns Golden Egg was held at Kington Golf Club, a superb course which is a firm favourite and well worth visiting.
Low cloud delayed proceedings but spirits were raised once it was time to tee off.
Colin Branagh was the first to claim a prize, on the nearest the pin hole, he also led his team of Paul Stentiford, Steve Hill and Lee Jenkins to capture the team competition with an average score of over 35 points.
In the O40 age group, Paul Stentiford produced a dazzling display of golf, taking the memorable round trophy and Mark Jenkins scored superbly on the short holes to take the par three prize.
Representing the U40s, Andy Bottomley scored a cracking 39 points to take the memorable round trophy and captain Stacey Cole took the par three prize.
Shawn Nolan walked the most course and was awarded the most unfortunate score trophy.
An excellent 39 points was enough for Phil Hunt to take third place, beaten on countback by Steve Hill who took second. Chris Belshaw took first place, scoring 42 points, and won the longest drive, despite catching the ball off the heel of his three wood.
