WORCESTER rockers Medford will be getting into the party mood at the weekend when they play a concert at the city's Marr's Bar on Saturday night.

The band - fronted by Richard Webb - play lively cover tunes, and audiences can expect songs from acts such as The Faces, The Who and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

The group have been together for about six years and will also be supported on the night by another band, Two Weeks Later. The gig will be the first time Medford have played the Pierpoint Street venue on a Saturday evening and they are hoping to turn up the heat by playing a few upbeat numbers.

Richard said: "It's one of those gigs where we're trying to go back to our roots.

"We're going to be playing the harder, more rocky stuff and move away from being the wedding band that we seem to have become."

Tickets for Saturday's gig are £4 in advance or £5 on

the door.
