THE heart-wrenching Hans Christian Andersen tale of The Little Match Girl is being told at local theatres.
While the Lords and Ladies of Victorian London head back through the streets to their homes, barely noticed is a child, reaching out to passers-by, hoping they will buy her matches.
There is hope for her, however, in the stars and the mysterious figure of the lamplighter and as the little girl strikes her last three matches to keep warm, their light reveals visions which fill her last hours with warmth, laughter and friendship.
Full House is the theatre company touring with the story and it will be using its trademark giant puppets to tell the story.
Aimed at children aged five and under, the show is visiting The Theatre, Chipping Norton, as a half-term show on October 26 at 2.30pm and coming to Number 8 Pershore on November 12 at 7pm.
