DELIGHTED organisers of Stourport Carnival have announced the street collection at this year's event raised £2,995.
The money will now be distributed to good causes in the town through charities that can apply for a share of the funds.
Pete Roberts, the carnival's press officer, said: "We are delighted with the amount gathered because it is way up on last year's total.
"The day was a tremendous success and we have already started preparing for next year's event."
All applications for funds should include a letter of explanation and can be sent to Pete Roberts at Pete's Prints, 26 Bridge Street, Stourport DY13 8UR.
The deadline for applications is October 31 and the carnival's committee will then allocate the funds.
