A JCB forklift truck worth £35,000 was stolen in an overnight theft at Shenstone, near Kidderminster.
Police believe offenders took the seven-litre all terrain telescopic model from a compound in a field next to the Granary Hotel in Heath Lane between 5pm on Tuesday last week and 7.45am the next day.
A police spokesman said: "This is a high value piece of machinery and we know that it was driven from the compound and through a neighbouring field.
"It may well be that someone saw or heard this forklift truck being moved without realising it was being stolen and we would urge anyone who saw it or noticed any unusual activity in the Shenstone area overnight on Tuesday to give us a call."
Anyone with information can call Kidderminster police on 08457 444888.
