IT looks like being a long, barren season at Walshes Meadow after Stourport crashed out of the FA Trophy at the weekend.
And least it means Swifts boss Roy Rencher can now concentrate on winning the most vital thing this season - the battle to stay in the Southern League.
The manager drafted in two more players for their debuts against Division One West rivals Bedworth and Ben Usher and Adam Robinson had steady if somewhat nervous starts.
Stourport's key man was returning keeper Aaron O'Malley who made a number of good saves to keep his side's chances alive.
The only goal came from the penalty spot midway through the first half. Leon Doughty was brought down by defender Tom Coley and impressive Bedworth striker Jon Douglas made no mistake to give the visitors a 26 th minute lead, blasting the ball past O'Malley.
A crucial challenge from Robinson had denied Lee Greenaway Bedworth's opener earlier in the half and the forward was denied against after the break when he rattled the woodwork.
Stourport's best chances to get something out of the game came at the start of the second period when Richard Burgess sent an effort wide of the target and Shaun Findlay volleyed over the bar.
Swifts: *O'MALLEY 7, Coley 5 (Volosanovs 49, 6), Robinson 5, Dodds 6 (Sherwood 27, 6), A Jones 6, Hughes 6, Bragoli 6, Findlay 6, Usher 5 (Willetts 65, 6), Burgess 6, Skitt 5. Subs (not used): Small, Atkinson.
