IT'S that time of year that I feel I must write to your letters page reminding the newsagents of Wyre Forest about the duty of care they owe to the paper boys/girls they employ.

I have seen several of these children on their rounds riding bikes in the mornings and evenings with no lights on them.

I do not know which newsagents the children I have seen are working for, but I have seen several in the Wyre Forest area.

Of course, the people who are mainly responsible for these children are their parents but it appears that they can't see the dangers of their children riding bikes in the dark, often on the footpath and with a large bag on their shoulders.

I believe that the newsagents should not allow their employees to work during the dark mornings and evenings unless they have lights on their bikes.

I have heard of newsagents who provide the lights but perhaps it would be fair if the parents provided the lights and the newsagents the batteries.
