Police have issued an urgent warning that two stolen capsules of adrenalin could kill if injected incorrectly.

"If the ampoules - small, sealed capsules holding a solution for an injection - each containing 1ml of adrenalin are injected directly into the bloodstream, they should cause a cardiac arrest and/or seriously damage internal organs," said police spokesman Richard Bull.

Adrenalin is normally injected into muscle tissue, often when someone has suffered a heart attack.

The ampoules were taken from a Citroen Picasso in Rockhill, Inkberrow, overnight on Tuesday.

Also taken in a black medical bag - resembling a brief-case with a number of compartments - were six colour-coded syringes, two green, two orange and two blue.

"Nothing else was taken, so it appears initially that whoever took the bag knew what they were looking for," Mr Bull added.

"Whoever has taken the adrenalin and syringes must be extremely cautious in what they do with them.

"What they have could well prove fatal if administered incorrectly and without proper medical supervision."

South Worcestershire police have issued a warning to people in the Vale that if anyone knows anything about the theft, has seen a black bag dumped somewhere, or has any other information that they think would help police, they should call 08457 444 888.
