POLICE have warned people to be vigilant with their bank details after a Badsey man had £7,500 stolen from his account.

The money went missing between October 6 and 11 and the incident is part of a growing problem for police and banks.

PC Paul Adams, community beat manager for Evesham, said: "We probably have one a week and we would urge people to be careful.

"Two or three years ago it was quite rare for police to get reports of this in Evesham, now it's every week.

"It could be that the card has been cloned at a restaurant or ATM or the culprits have obtained the bank details another way.

"All personal papers should be shredded - anything with your name, address and bank account details - and care should be taken at cash machines. Check that the machine hasn't been tampered with."
