STOURBRIDGE'S Timothy Parkes is off to the Big Apple to play an exclusive gig at New York's Knitting Factory.

The 25-year-old singer/songwriter will perform at the venue on Sunday October 23.

Gary Lucas of the Magic Band, co-writer of 'Grace' and 'Mojo Pin' on Jeff Buckley's famous album 'Grace', helped arrange the gigs at the venue, which has featured performances by the likes of PJ Harvey.

Tim met Gary when he performed with the Magic Band at Stourbridge's Rock Caf 2000 earlier this year and after giving him a CD he got in touch and invited the aspiring Stourbridge star to the States to gig and collaborate on a possible future project.

His next outing in the UK will be at the Glastonbury Assembly Rooms on Saturday October 29.
