Bowling For Soup Wulfrun Hall Wolverhampton
PUNKY American popsters Bowling For Soup rocked Wolverhampton's Wulfrun Hall when they made a return visit on Monday.
The colourful four-piece from Wichita Falls, Texas, belted out a plethora of power pop tunes from their latest album A Hangover You Don't Deserve.
Fans were also treated to the best of the best from their Drunk Enough To Dance album, including the sing-a-long Surf Colorado, Life After Lisa, and anthemic Emily and Girl All The Bad Guys Want, which saw the band nominated for 'best performance' award in 2003.
A superb - rockier than the original - cover of Bryan Adams's Summer of 69 also went down a treat.
Dynamic lead singer Jaret Von Erich entertained the crowd with his lively banter, while guitarist Christopher Van Malmsteen performed to perfection his bemusing plectrum trick.
And if that wasn't enough to put the gig into the realms of one of the greatest this season, there was also awesome support from the stunning American-Hifi.
The Civic's rock and indie season continues next week with metallers Deicide on Monday October 24, The Subways on Tuesday October 25, The fall on Wednesday October 26 and Turin Brakes on Friday November 4.
