TONY Wharton gave an illustrated talk entitled "Faces of Nature" to Kidderminster branch. He explained a naturalist photographer's work and how it had three dimensions - illustrative and, therefore, educational, pictorial and creative.
The talk covered everything from wildlife to geology, and even from other continents.
The season's first field meeting was at Belvide Bird Reserve, where 35 species were identified, including a young Arctic tern, black-necked grebe, a black-tailed godwit and a ruff.
On Wednesday at St Oswald's Church Centre, Kidderminster, at 7.30pm, John Robinson will present an illustrated talk called "The Natural History of the Wyre Forest".
On Sunday, October 30, the field meeting will be at Warwickshire Wildlife Trust's Brandon Marsh nature reserve, members to meet in the car park at 10am.
Anyone interested in wildlife, birdlife and conservation is welcome. For more details contact 01562 67748.
