PARISH COUNCIL: The council met on October 3 No applications have been received for the vacancy on the council. A new notice advertising for co-option on November 28 will be placed in the notice board, and in the Arch Messenger magazine, asking for applications to fill the vacancy.
A letter had been received from Worcestershire County Council asking if the parish council would appoint a tree warden. It was agreed that the chairman would talk to the public paths warden.
The chairman gave a brief outline of the report received from Alan Saunders, the rural housing enabler from Wychavon District Council, which said 50 per cent of the questionnaires were returned, showing that a high percentage of the parish had a housing need. There was sufficient evidence to move onto the next stage. The parish council would meet with Mr Saunders, Ms Evans, a housing development officer, and a planning officer from Wychavon District Council, to consider sites that might be suitable for development.
Once a site is identified the rural housing enabler would choose a housing association which would appoint an architect. The plans would then go before the parish council, and a public exhibition would be held once the parish council was satisfied with the proposed site and plan.
A glass recycling scheme is to be implemented in the Wychavon district but the parish is not to be included in the scheme. District councillor Mrs Steel will discuss the matter with the district council.
The next meeting will be held in Church Lench Village Hall on Monday, November 28 at 7pm.
