THERE are a few places available for any one interested in becoming a referee on a course starting on Friday, November 18 at Worcester-shire FA Headquarters, De Salis Drive, Hampton Lovett Industrial Estate, Droitwich.
Sessions start at 7pm and last for two hours and continue in the same format for ten weeks.
The first three weeks are on basic Law, with an exam on the fourth week based on the multi-choice principle.
Successful candidates can proceed to the second part of the course provided they start refereeing 11-a-side matches.
The second part of the course starts n then new year and is based on the practicalities of refereeing with the use of video followed by another examination.
Successful candidates will receive a certificate and be registered as either a Level 7 or Level 8 referee.
The final week is reserved for those under the age of 18 to take a Child Protection Course.
Candidates must be over 14 by the time of the final examination and the cost for all courses is £30 for over 16s and £20 for those under 16.
The fee will be refunded when you have refereed ten 11-a-side matches and attend an In Service Training Evening.
There is also an affiliation fee of £10 payable on passing the first examination and being registered as a Level 9 referee.
