FECKENHAM Village Hall will host a one-off show this Sunday from the Laughing Orange Theatre Company as part of Shindig, the county's rural and community touring scheme.
The group (pictured left) presents Dennis Potter's Blue Remembered Hills, the story of a group of seven-year-old children living in the Forest of Dean in 1943.
The youngsters escape the troubles of the Second World War in the landscape of woods and hill, exploring their friendships and loyalties, until the peacefulness and innocence of their world is lost during a single tragic event.
The show was originally written for TV and won the 1980 BAFTA TV Award for best single play. In the stage version the seven characters are played by adults, not children.
It is the fifth production by the Laughing Orange Theatre Company and has been co-produced with Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre.
Blue Remembered Hills starts at 7.30pm at Feckenham Village Hall. The performance is not recommended for children under 11. Tickets are available from the Rose & Crown, High Street, Feckenham, or thro-ugh www.feckenodeon.co.uk/shindig
