Droitwich U15s 9 Moseley U15s 5
DROITWICH saw off Moseley to win this tight North Midlands Cup preliminary round on Sunday.
Spa showed greater composure than their Birmingham based rivals and won the game because of Bobby Scott-Walker's accurate kicking.
Droitwich matched Moseley and forced their opponents into mistakes, which Scott-Walker made them pay for with two penalties.
Droitwich went into the second half 6-0 ahead and Shaun Hooper produced a man of the match performance with a tigerish tackling display that prevented Moseley from any fluent play.
As Moseley grew more frustrated Scott-Walker grabbed a third penalty. However, the Birmingham side ground out a penalty and ensured that Spa suffered a nervy final quarter of the game.
Droitwich are now set to meet the winners of Luctonians and Bournville in the next round of the cup.
Spa's under-14s defeated Bournville in the cup and are set to meet either Hereford or Worcester.
