SOMETIMES what we're looking for is right under our noses - and we can't see it.
Much effort is belatedly being put into Bromsgrove's new Artrix cinema and theatre - a cultural centre for the town, all very commendable.
But we already have a cultural hub where, every couple of weeks, a few hundred people gather to watch a live drama unfold. It's thrilling, passionate and, like all good drama, you never know how it's going to end.
I'm talking about Bromsgrove Rovers. What marvelous entertainment the football club is providing!
I've given up my Birmingham City season ticket for the Rovers - and I don't regret it. This is great entertainment on my doorstep and I feel part of the club, thanks to the kindness and warmth of the people who run it.
Rovers are doing well this season and are on an FA Cup run. They won the last round against Halesowen with a stirring performance that put England (on tv that afternoon) to shame. And they're also through to the next round of the FA Trophy.
This Saturday at 3pm Rovers are playing one of the top non-league teams in the country, Morecambe, in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup. It's a huge match. A great atmosphere and raw passion is guaranteed. So why not turn up and support your local culture?
