CONGRATULATIONS to the Advertiser/Messenger for the superb coverage of the farcical 'proposals' to close esssential hospital services at the Alexandra Hospital.
Not only the A&E and maternity wings are affected by this outrageous 'proposal' but other services including cancer, paediatrics and gynaecology are included as you rightly report.
I implore you to keep up your powerful pressure and if possible keep your readers informed as much as you can as to the activity of opposition to a scheme which will surely decimate the health and safety of the council tax payers, children and others in Worcestershire.
Report, if you will, on the range of meetings that are undoubtedly about to be mounted against this idiocy by the Worcestershire Hospitals NHS Trust so that those sitting around the tables of decision making are made constantly aware that their threats are not going to have an easy passage and that the anger of the people of this county has only just begun.
An illustrated map of the county would amply illustrate some of the misery and hardship facing patients, their visiting friends and relatives - many of whom act as unpaid chauffeurs, what these 'proposals' will really mean?
May I suggest a particularly 'juicy' one? Wythall/Hollywood, situated on the north eastern part of the county, and there are many others, to underline the misery which runs through your penetrating reportage.
Also, what of those more comfortably placed to take advantage of the excellent nursing of the Royal Worcestershire Hospital? Well it doesn't take even a labotomised amoeba to work out the knock on affects to that hospital's waitings lists.
